You may have noticed that there are two methods
used by Expert-World to apply images.
Method One.
When you add your profile image you use an upload facility.
This upload takes an image from
your own computer
which you select using the browse button.
Like this:
When you upload your image it is transferred from your computer to the Expert-World server. This ensures that the image is always available to the visitors.
This method is also used to add the main image for your product. This image appears next to the description in the product listings.
Method Two.
The second method is used when you are creating or editing an article, a tutorial or a product sales page. It occurs when you click on the "picture insert" icon on the editor:
This method is not an upload but is a link to a location on the internet.
Now if the images that you want to use are already on the internet, then that is fine, you can use the existing url.
For example when Ewen Chia comes to create or edit his product sales page on EW, he already has the images that he wants to use on his main web site. By right-clicking on the image he can select "copy image location".
Next when he clicks on the "picture insert" button in the editor he gets this message box:
When right-clicking and selecting "paste", the url of the image will be placed in this message box and then when he clicks "OK", this url will get placed into product sales page between two "img" tags.
The same editor is used for article and tutorial writing as well, so you can produce some very informative tutorials.
You can do the same with any images that you have on your web pages.
Just make sure that the images you use are not wider than 780px otherwise they damage the layout of the page you are creating.
For more information about added and formatting images see the tutorial
"How to Add Stunning Images to Your Articles"
But ... what if you have not put the images on the internet yet?
Well you could use one of the many free photo upload sites and then use that url. Of course you are then dependent of that website for your image availability.
Another option is to upload the images to your personal Image Bank which is linked to your Expert-World membership.
That is what we are going to look at now.
From your
Control Panel just select "Upload Images".
Now you can enter up to 50 images from your computer.
You can upload up to five at one time.
You can adjust the height of each image, this is useful if you want to make the image smaller than the original. Making it larger may loose some quality.
You only need to state the height, the width will adjust proportionately.
If your image is wider than 780px, then the upload program will automatically adjust the width down to 780 and the height will be in proportion.
Image quality is best when the image dimensions are not changed.
Make sure you enter title and caption (they can be the same).
To upload your image(s) just click the button at the bottom
labelled
"Upload All Images".
Once you have uploaded your images, you can list them from the control panel.
And you will see a list of your images.
The list shows a thumbnail version of your image,
the complete url - which you can copy and paste to your browser to check it,
the title that you entered,
the caption that you entered,
The title and caption are used by the display program to add title and alt tags to your images.
Notice that the upload program adds a time stamp to the file name. This prevents duplicate file names from occurring and means that you can add two versions of the same image if you wish.
In this listing here, you can see that I have now got a normal version and a thumbnail version of the same image. I used 100 as the image height.
OK - so you now have your images available.
To see how you use them effectively, take a look at this tutorial:
